O público japonês(do portal japonês Biglobe) elegeu os 50 melhores animes dos anos 90, mas vale lembrar que, como sempre, os resultados não podem ser considerados oficiais já que se trata de uma enquete informal. Algumas séries da lista chegaram a ser transmitidas no Brasil.
O primeiro lugar ficou para Evangelion, seguido de perto por Detetive Conan, um grande sucesso da TV japonesa. Em terceiro lugar, uma grande obra do estúdio Ghibli: Princesa Mononoke. Sailor Moon ficou em quarto e Yu Yu Hakusho aparece em sexto. O ranking traz diversas séries da franquia Gundam, Slayers, Tenchi Muyo! Nadesico, e as duas séries de Saber Marionette.
